2. Quotations and Estimates
Any quotation is valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Estimates are guides only and may change if additional work, materials, or unforeseen issues arise.
3. Payment Terms
Payment is due immediately upon completion unless agreed otherwise in writing. We accept debit card, credit card, bank transfer, and cash. Ownership of supplied materials remains with us until payment is received in full.
4. Minimum Charge and Call-Out Rates
All visits are subject to a minimum one-hour charge. Parts, specialist equipment hire, waste disposal, parking, congestion charges, and subcontractor costs may be charged separately.
5. Parts and Material Collection
Standard plumbing materials are normally carried on our vehicles. Non-standard materials may incur collection time charges up to a maximum of one hour unless otherwise agreed.
6. Cancellation Policy
Customers should provide as much notice as reasonably possible if they wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Standard appointments of up to 1 hour
Appointments cancelled within 4 hours of the scheduled arrival time may result in a charge of up to the minimum one-hour charge where Mr24HourPlumber Ltd suffers a loss as a result of the cancellation.
Part-day bookings of more than 1 hour and up to 4 hours
Where more than one hour of working time has been specifically reserved, cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment may result in a charge reflecting the working time that Mr24HourPlumber Ltd is unable reasonably to reallocate to other customers.
Bookings exceeding 4 hours or full-day bookings
Cancellation within 7 days may result in charges reflecting losses reasonably incurred as a result of the cancellation and the working time reserved.
Mr24HourPlumber Ltd will take reasonable steps to reduce any loss arising from a cancellation, including attempting to reallocate reserved working time where reasonably practicable.
Where reserved working time cannot reasonably be reallocated, any cancellation charge may take account of the financial loss resulting from that unused working time, including loss of profit where legally recoverable, but will take account of costs reasonably avoided as a result of the work not proceeding.
Where materials, equipment or other goods have been ordered specifically for the customer’s works, the customer may also be responsible for reasonable losses resulting from cancellation, including:
• supplier cancellation or restocking charges;
• non-refundable or specially manufactured materials;
• reasonable delivery and return costs;
• reasonable administration and handling costs actually arising from the cancellation; and
• other reasonably incurred and irrecoverable costs directly resulting from the cancellation.
Where cancelled working time is successfully reallocated to another customer, Mr24HourPlumber Ltd will take this into account when calculating its loss and will not seek to recover the same loss twice.
Where work has already commenced, an assessment or investigation has been completed, materials have been used or ordered, or other costs have already been incurred, the customer remains responsible for work performed and reasonable costs and losses incurred up to the point of cancellation.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory cancellation rights available to consumers, including rights arising under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 where applicable.
7. Deposits
Mr24HourPlumber Ltd may require a deposit to confirm a booking and reserve labour, materials, specialist equipment or other resources.
Unless otherwise stated, any deposit paid will be credited against the final invoice for the works.
A deposit is not automatically non-refundable.
Where a customer cancels outside any applicable statutory cancellation right, Mr24HourPlumber Ltd may use some or all of the deposit towards reasonable losses arising directly from the cancellation in accordance with Section 6.
This may include losses arising from working time that was specifically reserved and could not reasonably be reallocated, supplier charges, specially ordered or non-returnable materials, delivery and return costs and reasonable administration or handling costs.
Mr24HourPlumber Ltd will take reasonable steps to mitigate its losses. Where the loss incurred is less than the deposit held, the remaining balance will be refunded to the customer.
Where reasonable losses exceed the deposit held, Mr24HourPlumber Ltd reserves the right to seek recovery of the outstanding amount where legally entitled to do so.
Any applicable VAT will be accounted for in accordance with prevailing HMRC requirements.
8. Guarantee of Work
All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion, subject to these Terms and Conditions.
The guarantee becomes effective only once all invoices have been paid in full.
The guarantee covers defects arising directly from our workmanship and excludes manufacturer defects, misuse, third-party interference, accidental damage, fair wear and tear, and existing defects not identified during the initial visit.
9. Drain and Blockage Clearance
We guarantee successful penetration of a blockage unless structural defects, collapsed drains, hidden manholes, root ingress, or similar underlying defects are suspected. We cannot guarantee how long a drain remains clear after treatment.
10. Leak Detection and Access
To locate leaks we may need to access walls, ceilings, floors, external surfaces or groundworks. Reinstatement works such as plastering, decorating, tiling or landscaping are not included unless specifically agreed.
11. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must provide safe access, disclose relevant issues, and obtain any permissions or approvals required before work commences.
12. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant services. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control including severe weather, flooding, supplier shortages, utility failures, industrial action, or government restrictions.
14. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with UK data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.
15. Complaints
